Refrigerator zones

The vegetable drawers (+8°C to +10°C): Drawers in your fridge not only serve organizational purposes but also have specific humidity levels that are better suited to storing different types of food. The vegetable drawer is usually located in the lowest part of the fridge with no vents, which helps keep the moisture in.

What to store there: Fruits and vegetables that require refrigeration at higher humidity levels. This includes for example:

  • asparagus
  • beets
  • broccoli
  • cabbage
  • carrots
  • cauliflower
  • celery
  • cucumbers
  • eggplant
  • fennel
  • greens
  • leeks
  • mushrooms
  • fresh peas
  • peppers
  • root vegetables (turnips, rutabaga, parsnips)
  • spinach
  • summer squash & zucchini
  • cherries
  • grapes
  • lemons, limes and oranges
  • rhubarb
