Cookies can also be safely consumed after their expiration date, as long as they are kept in their hermetically sealed container or package.

To preserve a package of cookies for as long as possible without them getting too soft, store them in an aluminum box on a sheet of kitchen paper to absorb the moisture from the cookies.

If the cookies end up getting soft, grind them into crumbs to make a base for cheesecake or use them as a crumble topping.
