Guisados remains a go-to spot in LA for cheap and reliably delish tacos made with the requisite handmade tortillas and a well-rounded selection of succulent braised meats, grilled or sautéed vegetables and shrimp or fish. The success of the original Boyle Heights location (opened in 2010) has since led to six other locations throughout Los Angeles County, each of which frequently generate 5-star reviews for the eponymous homestyle stewed taco meats and fast, friendly service. The shredded chicken mole poblano taco is not to be missed, but if you want to get an overall feel for the menu, you can also try it in The OG sampler of six mini tacos.

These quick and easy chicken quesadillas are the perfect, last-minute family dinner!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup of tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup of chives, chopped
  • 1 tsp. of Mexican spice mix
  • 4 Tortillas
  • Cheddar
  • Salt, to taste

METHOD:

  1. Put shredded chicken breast, tomato sauce, chives, and mexican spice mix in a bowl and mix together.
  2. Lay out the tortillas. Place a slice of cheddar in the center, and cover with the chicken mix.
  3. Fold up tortillas, and heat in a frying pan until golden.
  4. Enjoy!
