These minced meat skewers are juicy and spicy, and are especially tasty during barbecue season. Follow the recipe below to enjoy them from the comfort of your own home.

Ingredients (for 4 people)

  • 1 onion
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 pointed pepper
  • 1 small bunch of parsley
  • 1 lbs. minced beef
  • 1 lbs. minced lamb
  • 2 tbsp paprika powder
  • 2 tsp salt
  • Skewers (best made of metal, but wood also works)

Instructions:

  1. Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic. 
  2. Wash the pointed pepper. Dry, cut in half, remove the stem and seeds, and chop finely. Wash the parsley, shake dry, and chop finely too.
  3. Put everything in a bowl with the minced meat and spices and knead well until a uniform mixture is formed.
  4. Cover and let sit in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
  5. Take a handful of meat mixture at a time and press it down around the skewers. The ends should be pressed tightly so that the meat does not fall off the skewer on to the grill.
  6. Place on the preheated grill 480 °F for 15 mins. Turn the meat regularly.
  7. Slide the meat off the skewer with the help of a knife and serve.

  • 1 onion
  • 5 - 6 thick rashers bacon
  • 1/2 lb sausage meat
  • 1/2 cup tomato paste
  • 2 cloves garlic, diced
  • 2 bell peppers, diced
  • Salt
  • 1 cabbage head


Method

  1. Fry the bacon in a skillet, then add onion, and meat.
  2. Add tomato paste, bell peppers, garlic and salt, and simmer till cooked through
  3. Boil 1 whole cabbage head in salted water till tender
  4. Spoon mixture into individual cabbage leaves, and fold carefully to form little rolls
  5. Serve with any remaining mixture
  6. Enjoy!
