Fact 3: The Mystery of the Chocolate Bar Invention

To this day, chocolate experts remain unsure about who exactly deserves the credit for inventing the chocolate bar as we know it. It was likely a collaborative effort, with many nations experimenting with the exotic ingredient. The first European chocolate factory was established in 1728 in Bristol, England. It was there, at "Fry & Sons," that people in the 1820s likely first came up with the idea of mixing cacao with the thick cacao butter instead of water, resulting in a solid bar.

However, the real breakthrough in flavor came from the Swiss. In the following years, Switzerland became home to many chocolate manufacturers, some of which are still renowned today. These Swiss pioneers perfected the art of chocolate making, leading to the delicious and diverse chocolate bars we enjoy now.
