Bolognese is a favorite among both young and old, and for good reason! If you're in the mood to prepare this classic sauce at home, we have a super simple recipe for you.
Ingredients (serves 4)
2/3 lb ground beef
1 onion
1 clove garlic
1 tbsp olive oil
2 cups tomato purée
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 tbsp oregano
1 lb pasta
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic.
Heat the oil in a pot and sauté the onion and garlic until the onion becomes translucent, then add the ground beef and cook until browned.
Once the beef is well browned, add the tomato purée, tomato paste, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer over medium heat for about 45 minutes.
Meanwhile, cook the pasta according to package instructions.
Serve the pasta topped with the Bolognese sauce, and garnish with basil leaves and Parmesan if desired.
