Vegan Garlic Hummus

Smooth, creamy, and packed with flavor, this garlic-infused hummus is a game-day favorite that’s as nutritious as it is delicious. Made with chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, and fresh garlic, it’s perfect for scooping up with warm pita bread, crunchy veggies, or tortilla chips. Make it spicier by adding a pinch of cayenne pepper or a drizzle of chili oil. For ultra-smooth hummus, remove the chickpea skins by gently rubbing them with a kitchen towel before blending.

Ingredients (for 6-8 servings):

  • 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 3 tbsp tahini
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil, plus more for drizzling
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (or roasted for a milder flavor)
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp salt, or to taste
  • 2-3 tbsp water (as needed for consistency)
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (optional, for garnish)
  • Warm pita bread or veggies, for serving

Instructions:

  1. In a food processor, combine chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, cumin, and salt. Blend until smooth.
  2. Add water, 1 tbsp at a time, blending between additions until the hummus reaches your desired creamy consistency.
  3. Add more lemon juice or salt if needed, blending again for a well-balanced flavor.
  4. Transfer to a serving bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with chopped parsley and smoked paprika. Serve with warm pita bread or fresh veggies.
