Guacamole

No Super Bowl spread is complete without a bowl of fresh, flavorful guacamole! This creamy avocado dip is loaded with zesty lime, juicy tomatoes, and a kick of jalapeño for the perfect game-day bite. Serve it with tortilla chips or fresh veggies for a guaranteed crowd-pleaser. Make it chunkier or smoother based on your preference—mash lightly for a chunky guac or whip it smooth for a creamy dip.

Ingredients (for 6-8 servings):

  • 3 ripe avocados
  • 1 small red onion, finely diced
  • 1 small tomato, diced
  • 1 jalapeño, finely diced (seeds removed for less heat)
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • Juice of 1-2 limes (to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 tsp cumin (optional, for extra depth)

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, scoop out the avocado flesh and mash with a fork until smooth or slightly chunky, depending on your preference.
  2. Stir in red onion, tomato, jalapeño, cilantro, lime juice, garlic powder, salt, and cumin (if using).
  3. Add more lime or salt if needed for the perfect balance.
  4. Garnish with extra cilantro and serve with tortilla chips, pita chips, or fresh veggies.

Ingredients

Dough:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup olive oil
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Water

 Filling:

  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup tomato sauce

 Method

  1. Mix flour, sugar, salt, milk, and water in a pan, and mix until you form a dough.
  2. In a saucepan, heat a splash of olive oil and add the onion. Cook on medium-high until onion has softened.  
  3. Add the ground beef, and add the salt, water, and tomato sauce. When the meat has browned, remove from heat. 
  4. Dust a flat surface with flour, and roll out the dough into a flat sheet. 
  5. Use a ramekin or cup to cut out circles. 
  6. Add a dollop of beef-tomato mixture to the center of each circle. 
  7. Pinch the dough into a little pocket.
  8. Bake in the oven at 350° F for 15 minutes.
  9. Enjoy!
