Pulled pork sandwiches

Pulled pork is a BBQ must-have, and you don't need any equipment but your trusty slow cooker to get moist, melt-in-your-mouth results.

Make a spice rub by mixing together together 4 tablespoons smoked paprika, 2 tablespoons sea salt, 2 tablespoons ground cumin,  2 tablespoons chili powder, 1 tablespoon ground black pepper, 1 tablespoon ground white pepper, 1 tablespoon dried oregano and 2 teaspoons cayenne pepper. Rub onto 4 pounds of bone-in pork shoulder.

Cover in plastic wrap twice and let sit in the fridge for at least 3 hours or overnight. Remove, unwrap and place in your slow cooker. Add 1/4 cup water, and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours, until the meat is tender and flakes easily with a fork. Remove to a cutting board. Continue pulling the rest of the meat off in shreds with a fork.

Drain the juices from the slow cooker, put the meat back in and pour in 4 cups of your favorite barbecue sauce. Heat on low for 1 hour more. Just before serving, toast your sandwich or burger buns. Top with 1 layer of pulled pork and 1 layer of coleslaw. Serve immediately.
