You don' have to eat turmeric to enjoy it's health benefits. Women in India have long been making beauty masks and treatments from the root. It's anti-inflammatory, antioxidant properties make it excellent for combating a range of skin conditions, such as acne, dry skin, psoriasis and eczema. It's also a great natural exfoliant. Try these turmeric-based face masks for healthy, glowing skin.
For a natural acne treatment, mix a few drops of water and lemon juice with turmeric powder. Apply the paste on the acne-affected area, and leave it for about 15 minutes. Gently scrub it off your face with warm water.
To exfoliate deep down, make a mask with chickpea flour and turmeric in equal portions, and add water (or raw milk or yogurt) to make a paste. Apply and leave the paste on until it dries, then wash off with lukewarm water, massaging in a circular motion.
