Why You Should Be Eating More Chinese Cabbage

Pregnancy health

With it's high levels of folic acid, Chinese cabbage is something all pregnant (and hoping-to-fall-pregnant) women should include in their diet. Folic acid helps prevent  serious birth defects of the spinal cord and brain like spina bifida and anencephaly, and there is evidence to suggest that folic acid  may help lower the risk of other infant defects as well, such as cleft lip, cleft palate, and certain heart defects. On top of that, it is essential for DNA health, and promotes the production of milk during lactation.
