Sbiten - Russia

Winters in Russia are known for being bitterly cold and long, so it's no surprise that they have a host of warming drinks (or sometimes just vodka) to stay cozy. Sbiten is one of the traditional beverages, and it doesn't actually include alcohol. Instead, the drink is made from honey, water, and spices such as cinnamon and cloves. Of course, it can be made with alcohol by using red wine in place of water, and it also sometimes comes garnished with an orange or lemon segment for a tangy boost.
