Atole - Mexico

Mexico has many cozy drinks to choose from, but this one is probably lesser known. Atole is a traditional beverage—thought to be of Mesoamerican origin—made from masa harina (finely ground corn flour), water, unrefined cane sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and sometimes chocolate or fruit. Everything gets blended then warmed before serving, and it ends up with a thin porridge-like consistency. Steamy and delicious, it can be served year-round, but it's especially popular during Christmas season.
