Warning Signs that Tell You When Your Food Has Gone Bad

Bread

For all types of bread, any sign of mold means it's a no-go. Even if it's just one part or slice that visibly has mold, throw out the rest. Bread is very porous, making it easy for mold to spread quickly through it. The mold can come in various colors from blueish-gray to white, so make sure you examine bread that's been sitting around for a while closely. On the other hand, bread that has simply become hard and stale may still be used to make croutons or breadcrumbs, for example. Just make sure there is absolutely no mold!
