Steamed or grilled white meat and fish

Instead of eating meat with lots of gravy or pan-fried fish, opt for grilling and steaming instead. Turkey and chicken breast are great because they’re full of protein and low in calories, and can be easily spiced up to give them lots of flavor. The same goes for white fish. Try cooking them ‘en papillote’, or in parchment paper, with fresh herbs, lemon juice and a few slices of tomato. Remember to buy Omega 3-rich fish like salmon at least once a week.

INGREDIENTS

  • Peanuts
  • Carrot
  • Mango
  • Rocket
  • 2 limes
  • Olive oil
  • Soy sauce
  • Red onion, minced
  • Salt
  • Pepper

 

METHOD

  1. Lightly sautée the peanuts until golden.
  2. Take the carrots and cut into thin slices.
  3. Peel the mango and slice into thin strips.
  4. Squeeze the juice from 2 limes into a bowl, and add olive oil, soy sauce, minced onion, salt and pepper.
  5. In a bowl, toss together the mango, carrot, rocket, and lime-soy dressing.
  6. Enjoy!
