How to store it

Despite all of the wonderful things about chicken, it's also known for being a source of bacteria, which can result in food poisoning. So handling and storing chicken properly is essential for proper food safety.

If you want to freeze chicken, do it when it's at its freshest, either in plastic wrap or a ziplock bag.

When it comes time to defrost it, the best method is to place it in the fridge to thaw rather than leaving it out at room temperature. This way you can limit the risk of bacterial contamination.

Chicken can be stored in the refrigerator for 2 days maximum if it's fresh, and 2-3 days if it's marinated or cooked. Once cooked, always store chicken in the coldest part of your fridge.
