Apart from curries, you can also use turmeric if you want to brighten up the color of certain dishes, like mashed potatoes or egg salad; just a dash of turmeric will give your food the vibrant yellow color that it was lacking. Tip: if you don't want your fingers to be dyed yellow too, then make sure to use a spoon to dish out the spice.

For a meat curry with meat, begin by removing the meat from the bone, dice, then sear
