Don't cut out sweets completely

Although you should certainly slow down on sweets, you can still enjoy some without going overboard. Limit yourself to one or two sugary treats per week. Completely eliminating foods you enjoy is never an effective strategy, as you will be more likely to crack and binge when cravings hit. Satisfy them here and there, and you won't be dreaming of cakes, donuts and cookies all the time.
