No 50's party was complete without a huge bowl of party punch! And we aren't talking about tall pitchers or punch barrels. Authentic 50's party punch was typically served in a large, open bowl with matching glasses which were decoratively hung around the outside with little hooks. It is believed that the the word 'punch' actually comes from the Sanskrit pañc, meaning 'five', as the drink was originally made with five ingredients: tea, alcohol, spices, sugar, lemon and water. There's no archetypal punch recipe as there are so many possible variations, but we love the bright colors and sparkling fizz of this festive party punch recipe.
