Baked Onion Dip

Never far from a party, the famous onion dip has been known under various names: California Dip, Lipton Dip and French Onion Dip, but the recipe has not changed much since the mid 1950's when it became big. The 1950's were the era of convenience, when TV dinners and pre-made drink mixers ruled, so onion dip which was made simply by combining a packet of Lipton dehydrated soup with sour cream or cream cheese, was a huge success. With all respect to the classics, we prefer this version, which actually requires a tiny (teeny) bit of cooking. Our tip? Made extra, as it disappears pretty darn fast.
