The transformation

The slaughterhouse is where every chicken will go once it has reached maturity.

Some chickens are slaughtered very young, when they're only 45 days old and weigh roughly 2 pounds. Other chickens are slaughtered between 50 and 70 days.

The highest quality chickens are slaughtered between 110 and 120 days.

After the meat is extracted, the carcasses are used to make finished products such as chicken stock.
