Toasted bread and jam

Bread is always a safe bet in the mornings and will help you avoid pre-lunch snacking. Whole-wheat varieties are obviously the better choice because of their increased fiber content and the slow-release energy they provide.

Here's a tip to avoid running out of the handy staple: buy a few loaves of your favorite bread, and store them in the freezer in Ziploc bags. When you get down to the last slice, take a bag out and let thaw overnight so you have almost completely fresh bread in the morning. Slather on some butter or jam, and place the slices in a Tupperware to carry with you to work.
