Baba

Though technically this Neapolitan sweet has French origins (baba au rhum), it became famous as soon as French chefs introduced it to Naples, and the rum is optional, hence why it's called simply baba. It's made from yeast dough that can be dipped in rum syrup, sugar or even in limoncello. Soft and aromatic, its peculiarity lies in the juicy texture and softness of the dough, which melts in your mouth.
